Life a flurry…
So I woke up this morning to like eight phone calls about Saturday night at Union (Sorry, We Party). I woke up kind of late around 10AM because I was up til 4AM preparing. The phone call was from the printing company we’re using to do the backdrop. They wanted ME to design the thing. I handed them the logo thinking that they could just do it haha. Oh, first of all why do I even need a backdrop? Well we hired a photographer to take pictures of people in front of the backdrop so that we can post them online and tag folks. Anyway, we obviously need it by Saturday so it was huge rush because of how last minute the order is. Needless to say, I’ll be excited when loose ends like this are tied up completely!

Another loose end: fliers! I need more fliers printed so I can paint Westport yellow and purple.
But at the end of the day, I’m excited (in a nervous way) about my first TRUE debut as a DJ. I’m not afraid of getting in front of people and rapping or speaking but this, THIS is a whole new field. I am a straight up ROOKIE at this. Don’t get me wrong, I’M GOOD, I know what I’m doing and I have a good ear for music (not to mention I know how to read crowds well), but there have been guys doing this their whole life — like I’ve done with rapping. I hope they all embrace me. But I’m looking to make a great impression this go and I think people will enjoy themselves.
[VIDEO] Everything’s a Remix
Although I’d like to call a lot of my music original I’d be a liar. Everything that is created was influenced in some part by it’s environment. So don’t worry about originality — worry about creativity! That’s the one thing that can’t be duplicated.

First video in half a decade! It was a lot of fun and hard work. Ready for the next one. Special thanks to Ces Cru, Leigh Gibbs and Marmo for all their hard work on this project!
thePhantom* 2011: Year in review
2011 was a good year for me: I was part of the Sly James campaign and saw him WIN!

This was easily one of my proudest moments of 2011:
I got to perform at his watch party.
My ode to UMKC, “Gold & Blue” went viral overnight. (now they play the song at every game).
The Phantastics, my funky ass band, was officially formed.
I landed a sponsorship with Distinguished Cravat:
I was nominated for a Pitch Award (I lost gracefully to Stik Figa).

I dropped The Fountain of Youth and collaborated with a host of my local favorites: CES CRU, Sean Hunt + More.
TFOY made Demencha Magazines “Favorite melting pot record of 2011.
I was Ink Magazine ”hottest reader“…

and made the cover of KC Magazines “Sexy Single 2011” issue.

I officially made my debut as a DJ and further explored the world of Dance music. I was approach by two labels (which I turned down).
Upon reflection, this year has probably been my best so far as far as my musical career. Needless to say, it’s time to reach even higher in 2012 with #Synesthesia.
