On patience and the Obama Administration.

Finally, some worthy dialogue on Tumblr. Preach on, sis.

wikirocks:

I have seen multiple websites and television shows aimed specifically at judging the Obama administration up til’ it’s hundredth day. This is so out of wack to me. I even read the NY Times article about how Michelle Obama isn’t participating enough in shaping policies, as much as she is shaping her image. Give them a minute to settle down, jeez. I find it deeply ironic that, in my recollection, no one questioned a damn thing about the Bush administration and the first lady, Laura Bush. Not until the fuck ups came rolling in, that is.

People that expect instant results from the Obama administration are being unrealistic. Get off of his back already. It’s getting ridiculous. He has inherited a complete disaster, so for all of the people who feel the need to watch his every move and monitor how many promises he has kept (which is ridiculous, to say the least), where were you when Bush was making mistakes? Now is not the time to have an eye-brow raised; you should have been doing that when the real damage was being done. Now is the time to have a little trust, to have a little patience. Things are hard for everyone, but we have to remember that President Obama and his staff are doing the best they can under the current circumstances. They didn’t create the monster. And they want it to go away, just as bad as we do. But 100 days is hardly enough time to get their feet wet, so stop with the “report cards” and “promise monitors”. It’s virtually pointless because it will not predict the coming years, and what they will bring, but more importantly, they do little to explain how complicated and intricate the policy process really is.
