Time to evolve

So the past year has been interesting as far as my music career. I’ve delved deeper into the realms of electronic and dance music. My most recent album, The Fountain of Youth solidifies my current state as an electronic rapper.
My music has always been pretty…different. I’ve just never really embraced it.
A friend of mine, Jon Gray, put me on to some House music a couple years back and I had an epiphany. I realized that I’ve always loved House but just didn’t know much about it. I thought House was Techno or Techno was Trance — hadn’t even heard of Drum’n’Bass — but I’ve finally discovered the differences. And they are, although finite, quite vast.
Electronic music is everywhere these days. Just about ever hit record out there either has undertones of Trance, House or Dubstep. It’s awesome, and it’s interesting that my music has embraced it to the fullest.
I see where the industry is headed. I see where my career is headed. I know that my future music will alienate some of my beloved fans. But I assure you, I will forever, in regards to progressive, positive music, hold the blood stained banner. For now, just enjoy the ride because it’s going to be a wild one.
UPDATE: In regards to my band, The Phantastics, we are a funk, psychedelic, hip-hop, rock, jazz and r&b infused group. We’ll sound more like Andre 3000 / James Brown / Queen more so than Kaskade, Tiesto or Deadmau5 :).
