Alvin Brooks Named To KC Police Board

Civic-leader, former council-member and overall Kansas City saint, has been appointed to the Kansas City Police board, as reported by KMBC. Brooks still needs to be confirmed by the Missouri Senate.
As some of you may remember, he ran for KC mayor and BARELY, and I mean BARELY lost to the current city hall jester, Mark Funkhouser. One could only wonder how different the political landscape of Kansas City would be if he were mayor. Some would argue he wasn’t Mayor-esque, but no one could refute his passion for progress in this city.
Anyways, Brooks was a former KC cop so not only does he knows the city like the back of his hand, he has roots within the police department. Let’s hope some progress, in conjunction with Kansas City, and Jackson county will soon follow.
