New Restaurant in KC I went to!
East African Restaurant:
Just finished a fine meal at the brand spanking new East African Restaurant -it’s literally called this — on (or around) 34th in Main in midtown KC. My girlfriend, her mother and I were amongst a sprinkling of diners to indulge ourselves in an authentic journey to east Africa. Forgive me. I’ve forgotten the name of the dishes that we all shared but they were darn good. Afterward we enjoyed a delectable tea. The menu encompassed authentic dishes that are custom in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia. If you’re in a hurry, don’t bother, however. The experience is all about the table conversation so courses are served at an according pace.
Our waitress was incredibly nice and hospitable. She did everything from pour the sauce on our food to pour the sugar in our tea. I’d like to see some of this going on in the Phantom* household! haha. A gentlemen, who I’m assuming to be the owner, greeted us and engaged in conversation. He’s been in America for three years.
Anyways, I’d would like to see more bodies enjoying their services. It was an experience that felt beyond Kansas City.
I’ll go back to take pictures and possibly interview the owner…soon!
